Well water testing and filtration in the Yakima Valley
Bacteria, nitrates, arsenic, hardness and farm chemicals, plus certified testing for FHA, VA and USDA home sales. Filters and filtration systems when results call for them.
Chapter 01
What can be in a valley well
A well has no utility behind it checking what comes up the casing. Castle's testing looks for the usual list: bacteria such as E. coli, nitrates and nitrites, arsenic and other heavy metals, and the everyday measures of hardness, pH and turbidity. Hardness leaves scale on fixtures and heaters, and turbidity is simply how cloudy the water is.
Yakima and Kittitas counties are farm country, so the list also includes agricultural pesticides and herbicides. If your well sits near orchards, fields or irrigation, that line item is worth asking about when you phone the crew.
The test only means something if the sample is taken properly, and taking it properly is part of the job. Rob Weaver and the crew pull pumps in this valley for a living, so they know how the wells here are built and where a sample should come from. Bring up anything you have noticed about the water, such as a metallic taste, staining in the sink or a change after irrigation season starts, because those details help decide which tests matter most for your well.

Certified testing for a home sale
Castle offers certified well water testing that meets local and lender requirements, including for FHA, VA and USDA loans. For a buyer or a seller in Yakima, Selah or Moxee, that means the result is in a form the lender will accept instead of a kit result nobody asked for.
Most well water testing results are ready in 2 to 5 business days. For urgent needs, Castle offers expedited testing, which matters when a closing date is already on the calendar.
A sale also tends to turn up the pump system. Jocelyn Tinoco wrote that Rob and Jesus kept her informed while she was under the pressure of closing on a home, and the same speed applies to well work. The line is (509) 580-0470, and Google lists the crew as open 24 hours.
Chapter 03
When results call for treatment
If a result comes back outside the range you want, the next step is treatment. Castle installs water filters and filtration systems, and the right one depends on what the test found: a system chosen for hardness is not the one chosen for arsenic or bacteria.
Testing the water and the pump system on the same visit saves a second trip. A sputtering tap, a pressure drop and a bad taste can have different causes, and the crew can look at the tank, the switch and the pump while the sample is being drawn. Roberto Ayala wrote that the team "explained everything clearly," and that is how a water report should be handed over: what was found, what it means, and what, if anything, needs doing.
That is the advantage of one company holding both trades. Castle carries a plumbing contractor license (CASTLPE776L7) and an electrical contractor license (CASTLPE842NN), so a treatment system that needs a pump, a circuit or a controller is installed by the same people who know the well.
